Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer role based in Dothan, AL. The Mechanical Engineer will support the design, analysis, and documentation of mechanical systems and components for a variety of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. Daily responsibilities include developing concepts, performing calculations, preparing and reviewing CAD models and drawings, and coordinating with electrical, structural, and other engineering disciplines. The role involves collaborating with project managers to track progress, address technical issues, and help ensure that deliverables meet client requirements, codes, and standards. The Mechanical Engineer will also participate in field visits, site assessments, and technical reviews to support project execution from concept through construction.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and mechanical systems design.
- Proficiency in Machine Design and the development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for modeling, detailing, and revising mechanical drawings.
- Project Management skills to help plan tasks, monitor progress, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and support on-time delivery.
- Research and Development (R&D) capabilities to evaluate new technologies, materials, and methods and apply them to practical engineering solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of industrial experience.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, standards, and industry guidelines (e.g., ASME, ASHRAE) and the ability to apply them in design work.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
- Ability to perform occasional field work, including site visits, inspections, and coordination with contractors.
