Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and dependable Shop Helper to join our team. In this role, you will support daily production activities by assisting with assembly, equipment operation, material handling, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills in a dynamic setting, supporting the creation of high-quality products.
Responsibilities
Assist in welder testing facilitation
Perform visual inspections under inspector direction
Assist in mechanical testing under inspector direction
Maintain material and consumable inventory levels
Operate forklift for material handling
Maintain weld shop housekeeping standards and ensure all equipment is operated safely in compliance with PPE and MAVTEC safety policies
Support traceability and documentation during testing
Identify equipment issues and report for repair
Assist in machine shop operations including running saws and beveling machines when needed
Process completed certifications and results
Experience
Minimum 2–4 years experience in welding, fabrication, or industrial support role
Basic understanding of welding processes
Experience performing visual inspections and assisting in mechanical testing
Forklift certification required or ability to obtain
Basic client drawings and welding procedure interpretation skills
Mechanical aptitude and equipment maintenance awareness
Strong organizational skills
Ensure safe operation of equipment and enforce PPE / MAVTEC safety standards
