Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Benefits Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for coordinating pharmaceutical activities, including prior authorizations, ordering, inventory tracking, and appointment scheduling. The ideal candidate will have experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine if pharmaceuticals should be handled Buy & Bill or Specialty Pharmacy.
- Obtain prior authorizations for biologic medications.
- Order pharmaceuticals from drug companies or pharmacies.
- Assist patients with copay assistance programs.
- Provide patients with cost estimates for their medications.
- Ensure accurate ordering and billing processes .
- Track and monitor drug inventory at each location.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in insurance verification and prior authorizations preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to multitask.
