Are you looking to start or grow your career in the HVAC industry? We are seeking a motivated Commercial HVAC Apprentice who is ready to learn, develop technical skills, and gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced Commercial HVAC Technicians.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic, and an interest in building a long-term career in commercial HVAC/R. The Commercial HVAC Apprentice will assist with the installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems while receiving hands-on training and guidance from experienced professionals.

Assist experienced HVAC Technicians with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC/R equipment and systems.

Learn to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair heat pumps, ventilation systems, gas furnaces, steam and hot water boilers, burners, rooftop package units, VRV/VRF systems, refrigeration equipment, motors, pumps, and related components.

Perform preventive maintenance, including changing filters and belts, cleaning coils, checking equipment operation, and inspecting components.

Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, heating, cooling, and ventilation system issues.

Learn to safely use HVAC hand tools, power tools, meters, gauges, testing equipment, and diagnostic equipment.

Assist with installing and repairing piping, fittings, drainage systems, and other HVAC and mechanical components.

Read and follow equipment specifications, drawings, schematics, technical instructions, and manufacturer recommendations.

Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas at customer and company locations.

Properly maintain company-issued tools, equipment, materials, supplies, and inventory.

Document work performed and materials used as required.

Follow company safety procedures and applicable OSHA and environmental requirements.

Participate in technical training, safety training, and apprenticeship development opportunities.

Work toward obtaining required HVAC certifications and progressively develop the skills needed to work more independently.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Service Supervisor or management.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Strong interest in developing a career in Commercial HVAC/R.

Basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Vocational school, trade school, apprenticeship, or related technical education in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing systems is preferred but not required.

Previous HVAC, maintenance, mechanical, construction, or skilled-trade experience is preferred; however, candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Basic knowledge of HVAC tools, equipment, and terminology is a plus.

EPA Section 608 Certification is preferred but not required. Candidates must be willing to obtain certification within the timeframe established by the company.

Willingness to participate in ongoing technical training and pursue additional HVAC-related certifications.
This position requires the ability to perform the physical duties commonly associated with commercial HVAC work, with reasonable accommodation as applicable.

Regularly stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

Work on rooftops, ladders, in mechanical rooms, and in other elevated or confined work areas.

Frequently lift and/or move equipment and materials weighing up to 100 pounds safely, with assistance or appropriate equipment when necessary.

Work in indoor and outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.

Work around moving mechanical equipment, electrical systems, fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and varying noise levels.

Safely wear and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
