Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Leasing Consultant to join our dynamic property management team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for prospective residents, guiding them through the leasing process with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment, ensuring each potential tenant receives exceptional customer service while efficiently managing leasing operations. Duties
- Greet prospective residents and conduct property tours, highlighting features and amenities to generate interest and facilitate leasing agreements
- Manage the leasing process from initial inquiry through application approval, including screening applicants and verifying references
- Maintain accurate and detailed records using property management software such as Yardi or OneSite, including data entry, filing, and contract documentation
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 guidelines, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) requirements, and other legal standards
- Handle lease negotiations, prepare contracts, and explain lease terms clearly to applicants
- Assist with rent collection, lease renewals, and resolving resident concerns with effective conflict management skills
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to coordinate property upkeep and address resident requests promptly
Skills
- Strong knowledge of property leasing processes, landlord-tenant law, and Fair Housing regulations
- Experience with property management software
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional phone etiquette and relationship management abilities
- Proven sales aptitude with upselling techniques and negotiation skills to maximize occupancy rates
- Legal administrative experience related to contracts, legal filings, and compliance documentation
- Ability to handle conflict effectively while maintaining positive resident relationships
- Office experience including data entry, filing systems, and administrative support functions
- Knowledge of property maintenance coordination and basic facilities management principles
