POSITION SUMMARY
The role of Registered Nurse is essential in ensuring quality care for each patient entrusted to our care. Registered Nurses work closely with surgeons, nursing staff, and other medical personnel to act as the patient advocate and steward as they navigate the surgical process and support patients from the moment they enter the clinic’s doors through post-operative care.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience/Licensure:
· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
· Current Indiana RN license, ACLS, PALS, and BLS required.
· Two years of pre-operative, recovery room, intensive care or emergency room experience is desired, Ophthalmologic experience preferred.
· All employees must be able to provide proof of their identity and their right to work in the United States.
Essential Abilities:
· The applicant must be able to communicate effectively and work effectively with all physicians and staff of the Surgical Care Center, demonstrating cooperation and flexibility.
· Strong written communication skills and ability to accurately and appropriately document patient notes and update charts, completing all documentation before end of shift.
· Demonstrated capacity for making quick, intelligent decisions, and initiating appropriate actions.
· Must be able to make assessments of patients and able to handle emergency situations effectively and quickly.
· Must possess the ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a patient-centric, empathetic attitude.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Clinical Skills:
· Experience and comfort with navigating and updating electronic medical records and keeping accurate patient documentation.
- Current Indiana state license
· Adherence and monitoring of Universal Precautions at all times.
· Proven ability with direct patient care
- Must possess the ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
