Fabric Cutter & Tabler – Custom Drapery Workroom

Blind Stitch is a high-end custom drapery and soft furnishings workroom serving interior designers and luxury residential projects throughout South Florida.
We are looking for a Fabric Cutter & Tabler to join our drapery production team. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented position working with beautiful designer fabrics and custom window treatments in our professional workroom.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in fabric cutting, drapery or shade fabrication, textiles, or a similar hands-on trade who is comfortable working with measurements, fabric, and precision.
What You'll Do
- Calculate, measure and cut fabric and lining accurately using hand scissors
- Table, pin, measure, and press custom drapery panels on top of our large 12' x 24' worktable
- Work with an industrial iron and overhead boiler/track system
- Handle and maneuver rolls of fabric and panels throughout production
- Work with a variety of fabrics, linings, fiber contents, patterns, and repeats
- Hang completed draperies for final inspection
- Inspect finished work for measurements, workmanship, pattern alignment, pressing, and overall quality
- Perform hand sewing and finishing as needed
- Prepare completed draperies for packaging and installation
- Work closely with our sewing and production team to keep projects moving efficiently
The Right Candidate
We're looking for someone who is:
- Extremely detail-oriented and takes pride in producing beautiful, precise work
- Comfortable with numbers, measurements, fractions, and basic calculations
- Confident using scissors and handling different types of fabric
- Knowledgeable about fabric, textiles, and fiber content
- Experienced with or comfortable performing hand sewing
- Quick-paced, productive, and eager to learn
- Able to follow detailed instructions and production specifications
- Positive, dependable, and receptive to constructive feedback
- Comfortable working independently while also being part of a team
- Physically capable of standing and working with their hands throughout the day
- Strong enough to safely maneuver heavy fabric rolls and large drapery panels during production
- Careful and respectful when handling expensive designer fabrics and custom products
Experience
Previous professional experience working with fabric or textiles is required.
Relevant backgrounds may include:
- Drapery or window treatment fabrication
- Upholstery
- Sewing or alterations
- Fashion or garment production
- Fabric cutting
- Textile manufacturing
- Custom workrooms
Experience specifically making draperies is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person who already has strong fabric-handling skills, excellent attention to detail, and a willingness to learn our fabrication methods.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday 7AM-3PM

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
