American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Outpatient Hematology Oncology Clinic role requiring ONS/ONCC certification and 2 years of chemotherapy infusion experience.

Outpatient Clinic Hematology Oncology setting within a hospital-affiliated clinic
-
Day/Evening shifts, 8 or 10 hour shifts, between 7:00am and 6:00pm, Monday through Friday

13-week assignment length

Administers chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments
-
Performs PIV placement, port access, IV hydration, and administration of blood products and injections
-
Uses Epic charting system
-
Floating required as needed
-
Active RN license (WI or Compact) currently in hand

Current certifications: BLS (AHA only) and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience in chemotherapy/infusion services within the last 3 years
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Additional preferred certifications: APHON, CPHON, CPON, OCN

Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with strict passing criteria for both adult and pediatric rhythm identification

Provide direct patient care for a variety of oncology diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, blood, and other cancers

Administer chemotherapy via IV push, continuous infusion, and oral routes, and manage related side effects and oncologic emergencies

Skilled in port and central line care, PICC line management, and infusion pump operation

Provide patient and family education, symptom management, and psychosocial support
-
Recognize and manage oncologic emergencies such as anaphylaxis, tumor lysis syndrome, and sepsis

Work within a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital recognized as a leading referral center
-
Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
