Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, operating areas, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
- Handle laundry duties efficiently, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and uniforms in accordance with healthcare protocols.
- Operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners to maintain pristine floor surfaces.
- Follow strict safety protocols when handling chemical agents to ensure proper storage, usage, and disposal in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Conduct manual handling tasks safely when moving furniture, supplies, or heavy equipment by applying safe lifting practices to prevent injuries.
- Maintain sanitation standards by adhering to healthcare infection prevention and control guidelines at all times.
- Support environmental services initiatives by ensuring all areas meet cleanliness and safety regulations, contributing to a positive patient experience.
Requirements
- Proven experience in janitorial services or custodial work within healthcare or commercial cleaning environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to chemical handling and workplace safety is essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting techniques.
- Familiarity with healthcare facility housekeeping procedures and infection prevention practices.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude towards patients, staff, and visitors.
- Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners.
- Ability to follow detailed safety protocols consistently and accurately while maintaining high standards of sanitation.
