American Traveler is hiring a MRI Technologist for an acute care hospital in Albany, GA, requiring at least 1 year of MRI experience and proficiency with Siemens equipment.

Acute care hospital setting in an MRI department with 4 total scanners
-
Patient population includes musculoskeletal, neuro, abdominal/pelvis, radiation oncology, breast imaging, pacemaker, anesthesia, ICU, and NICU patients
-
High inpatient volume of 10–14 patients per day and 4–8 outpatients per day on weekends

Average of 30 scans per day due to long imaging protocols

IV placement is required

EMR: MEDITECH; PACS: McKesson/Change Healthcare

Primary equipment includes Siemens scanners; a Philips scanner is being added
-
4x10-hour evening shifts, Tuesday through Friday, 12:30 PM – 11:00 PM
-
No call or on-call requirement, though voluntary coverage may be available

Weekend shifts only apply if hired specifically for a weekend rotation

Holiday coverage required on a rotational basis

No floating to other departments or areas

Minimum 1 year of MRI experience required

Current BLS (AHA or ARC) and ARRT (MR) certification required

Hands-on experience with Siemens MRI equipment required; Philips experience preferred

Proficiency with MEDITECH EMR and McKesson/Change Healthcare PACS preferred
-
Experience in a Level II trauma center is a strong plus, as the facility operates similarly to a Level I
-
Travel experience preferred but not required — first-time travelers will be considered

Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (measured from the address on the candidate's Driver's License) to be eligible for placement

Perform MRI studies including musculoskeletal imaging, basic neuro, abdominal/pelvis, radiation oncology, and breast imaging, with exposure to pacemaker and anesthesia patients as well as ICU and NICU populations

A full-time supervisor is present on shift; a senior tech will be scheduled when a lead tech is unavailable

Radiologists are in-house during daytime hours, with the majority of MRI reads done remotely
-
Department orientation is 1–2 weeks

Candidates who have been employed by the facility within the last 12 months are not eligible for placement

Required scrub color is black with a black or gray jacket (no fleece); a black or gray undershirt may be worn underneath — scrubs are not provided
