Duties
- Safely transport prescription medications and medical supplies to patients’ homes or healthcare facilities, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Verify patient information and delivery details to ensure accuracy before each trip.
- Communicate clearly with patients regarding delivery instructions and assist patients with organization of delivery in their homes. Patient education may be required.
- Maintain proper documentation of deliveries, including signatures and delivery logs, in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Follow aseptic techniques and infection control procedures during medication handling and delivery processes.
- Keep delivery vehicle clean, organized, and well-maintained to ensure safety and efficiency on every route.
- Provide delivery services to patients within the pharmacy's delivery area of Eastern Tennessee and North Georgia.
- This position requires driving your own vehicle for deliveries. Vehicle must be kept in good working condition.
Requirements
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Required: At least 18 years of age
- Required: Valid driver's license with good driving required
- Required: Reliable transportation with current liability insurance
- Prior experience in healthcare or medical courier services a plus.
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate communication and attention to detail.
- Ability to navigate efficiently using GPS or mapping tools to optimize delivery routes.
Physical Requirements
- May require lifting boxes over 40 lbs. Example: lifting boxes of patient supplies, medical pumps, and infusion materials
- Will require moderate to high amounts of driving
Job Type: Part-Time
Job Hours:
- The deliveries can be completed through daytime or evening hours. Most deliveries occur between M-F, 12-6 PM. The delivery times can be flexible. Will depend on daily volume.
- No weekend, holiday, or overnight deliveries
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
