Schedule
- Rotational shift: Shift rotates every 3 months
- Second Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 5 days per week
- Training: Worker will initially work 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday – Friday to complete required safety training before transitioning to the assigned shift.
Position Overview
The Welder V is responsible for performing highly complex welding operations while maintaining strict standards for safety, quality, productivity, and technical specifications. The ideal candidate will have advanced experience performing open-root 1/8" TIG welding, automatic MIG, and Sub Arc welding on large-diameter pipe.
This position will involve welding on 22" to 38" diameter pipe with 2" wall thickness. The Welder V may also provide technical guidance and mentoring to less-experienced welders.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate welding equipment and tools according to highly complex specifications and procedures.
- Perform open-root 1/8" TIG welding, automatic MIG, and Sub Arc welding.
- Weld large-diameter pipe ranging from 22" to 38" in diameter with 2" wall thickness.
- Plan and sequence welding operations to ensure efficient workflow and quality results.
- Monitor and control welding operations throughout the process.
- Make necessary adjustments to welding parameters to maintain quality and specifications.
- Inspect and control finished weld quality according to blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Identify welding issues or potential problems and communicate them to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow all company safety requirements, procedures, and QHSE standards.
- Serve as a technical resource for complex welding activities.
- Provide instruction, coaching, and technical guidance to junior welders.
- May supervise or provide direction to a small team of welders.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Tooling, Planning, R&D, Industrialization, and other manufacturing teams.

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 2–3 years of relevant welding experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Open-root 1/8" TIG welding
- Automatic MIG welding
- Sub Arc welding
- Experience welding 22"–38" diameter pipe.
- Experience with 2" wall thickness pipe preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding specifications, and technical drawings.
- Ability to work independently on complex welding assignments.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety and welding procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical degree or technical training in welding/manufacturing.
- Experience mentoring or training junior welders.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, fabrication, industrial, or heavy equipment environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot welding problems and make appropriate process adjustments.
