American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an IMC Cardiovascular (Telemetry) day shift position in Alexandria, LA, requiring at least 1 year of telemetry or related nursing experience and current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.

IMC Cardiovascular unit in an acute care hospital setting

Cardiac and telemetry patient population — not a stepdown unit

Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing

Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call requirements

13-week contract
-
Active LA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the AHA required

Minimum 1 year of experience in telemetry or a related nursing specialty

US Social Security Number required for consideration

Two professional references required for consideration

Current primary source license verification (Nursys) required for consideration

Active copies of all certifications required for consideration — expired certifications will result in disqualification

Provides routine and complex nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation

Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness

Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families

Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
-
Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers
-
All newly hired RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
-
New hires are onboarded with a designated preceptor with competency validation completed at the bedside

BSN preferred but not required
-
Temp-to-perm conversion is a possibility
-
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates — local candidates are not accepted on this position
