Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals for the DSP positions to provide high-quality support and care to residents in a community or residential setting. This role involves assisting individuals with various needs, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans
- Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs
- Observe and document patient behavior, health status, and progress while adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties as needed
- Engage residents in social activities to promote mental well-being and community involvement
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures to ensure resident safety at all times
- Collaborate with team members, family members, and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care
Experience
- Prior experience in group home settings, assisted living, or long-term care environments preferred
- Knowledge of patient monitoring, medication administration, and vital signs measurement highly desirable
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness, or brain injury preferred
- Background in home health, personal care settings, medical settings, or nursing home environments is advantageous
- Driver's license required
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards required
