Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook/Dishwasher to join our culinary team. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, providing high-quality meals while maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and service, with experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist in menu planning and meal preparation, ensuring all dishes are presented attractively.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the safe handling and storage of food products.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Perform regular inventory checks on food supplies and assist in ordering as needed.
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food as required.
- Utilize proper knife skills for food preparation tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred, willing to train the right person.
- Background in menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food service is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential.
- Experience in a restaurant or catering environment is a plus.
- Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on meal preparation and presentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
