Hiring Salary: Salary commensurate based on education and experience
The Director plans, implements, and directs the administrative and fiscal functions for several clinical and research departments in the College of Medicine. Responsibilities include budgeting, personnel management, strategic planning and staffing. This encompasses oversight and responsibility for all departmental administrative and finance functions, including salary administration, purchasing and payments, contracts, budgeting, staff management, policy compliance, and other administrative duties, for the department.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of progressive professional work experience preferably in an academic, medical center, or complex research institution; OR Master’s Degree and two (2) years of progressive professional work experience preferably in an academic, medical center, or complex research institution.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral) with executives, researchers, vendors, and employees.
- Demonstrated understanding of the management issues in a highly complex educational and research environment.
- Demonstrated senior-level ability to define issues, strategically plan options, and devise and implement workable solutions.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in human resources management.
- Demonstrated senior-level leadership, strategic partnership, and negotiation skills.
Strong financial and analytical expertise in budget, forecasting, development, and management. In-depth understanding of regulations applicable to sponsored programs.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings. May require occasional overnight travel.
