Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Reconditioning Manager to join our automotive team. This role involves coordinating and overseeing the reconditioning of our used vehicles to meet quality standards, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining the highest level of vehicle presentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in servicing vehicles, mechanical work, and vehicle maintenance, with a passion for automotive restoration. Prior dealership experience and proficiency with various tools are highly valued.
Duties
- Perform vehicle inspections to determine what reconditioning is needed
- Work with technicians to make sure work is assigned and completed correctly
- Manage outside vendors like paint, body work, PDR, windshield replacement, etc.
- Apply auto estimating techniques to assess repair needs and ensure quality standards are met
- Perform heavy lifting when handling parts or vehicles during the reconditioning process
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status and addressing customer inquiries professionally
Experience
- Dealership experience preferred but not required; relevant automotive service, body or restoration experience is a plus
- Proficiency with welding, auto painting, buffing, and detailing techniques is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge including vehicle maintenance, auto glass installation, and auto restoration skills
- Experience with auto estimating software is advantageous
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, airless paint spraying, and buffing equipment
- Prior mechanical experience or background in auto body repair is highly desirable
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
