Job Description: Mammography Technologist
DESCRIPTION:
The Mammography Technologist will be responsible in assuring images are provided to the Radiologist that capture potential abnormalities and when appropriate, notifying clinical/radiology team of any potential concerns. The Mammography Technologist will follow established protocols and will adhere to policies and procedures and using established techniques to ensure patients safety and comfort during procedures.
Required Background:
- Requires a Board Certification
- State License and ARRT
- Certified Mammography Technologist (ARRTM)
- 3+ years of relevant experience preferred
Responsibilities:
- Use mammogram equipment to provide breast images that identify areas of concern and adhere to established standard positions for procedure.
- Obtains patients’ history, prior records (if available), and supportive documentation.
- Prepare the exam room pre and post procedure to ensure safety and protection of the patient assuring environment is meeting sterilization protocols and patient comfort.
- Assist in performing biopsies and quality control of the unit.
- Assures efficient output of procedures based on established standard timelines.
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
- Work closely with radiologists to assure quality and limit repeat procedures.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Verify patients’ identity and confirm order based on physician’s prescription.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge on how to program and adjust mammography unit to capture images from all angles established by protocol.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $39.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
