Accounting Associate
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and possesses strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the company’s financial operations, reporting accuracy, process improvements, and internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and maintain account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Develop and maintain Excel-based financial models, reporting templates, and project tracking tools.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Manage chargeback processes, research discrepancies, and coordinate resolution with internal departments and external partners.
- Record and reconcile daily business transactions within the general ledger system.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and balance sheet accounts while identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Monitor financial activity and prepare summaries, reports, and recommendations for management review.
- Maintain accounting records and documentation in accordance with company policies, GAAP standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management functions as needed.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining internal controls, accounting procedures, and process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, customer service, and leadership teams regarding financial matters and reporting needs.
- Support audits, financial reviews, and compliance-related activities.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive financial information.
- Assist with special projects, financial analysis, forecasting, and other accounting initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 1-3 years of accounting or finance experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and reporting functions.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with reconciliations, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
- Experience with Quickbooks and Microsoft Dynamics
- Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.
- Experience in a distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or service-based industry is a plus.
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
