We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Center Cook/Kitchen Coordinator with a valid Food Handlers License to join our team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, dietary guidelines, and quality standards, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish.
- Oversee food handling procedures to maintain safety, sanitation, and compliance with health regulations.
- Assist in menu planning by incorporating diverse dietary needs and preferences, including special diets and cultural cuisines.
- Coordinate meal service times, ensuring timely delivery of hot and cold foods while maintaining presentation standards.
- Manage kitchen inventory by ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste through efficient food utilization.
- Supervise kitchen staff or dietary aides when applicable, providing guidance on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including cooking stations, storage rooms, and equipment, adhering to strict hygiene standards.
- Support catering functions or special events by preparing large quantities of food and ensuring smooth service flow.
- Train new team members on proper food handling practices, knife skills, and safety procedures to uphold high standards of quality.
Experience
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide within healthcare or community settings.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu planning across various culinary environments such as restaurants or fine dining establishments.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures is essential.
- Previous kitchen experience involving meal preparation for large groups or catering is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of the food industry’s best practices related to serving diverse populations with varied dietary needs.
- Demonstrated skills in knife handling, meal assembly, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
