Effraim Home Care Agency LLC is hiring caring and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide high-quality support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
Available Shifts
Shift 1
Location: Sperry St, Philadelphia, PA 19152
- Every Other Saturday: 9:00 PM – 9:00 AM
- Every Other Sunday: 9:00 PM – 9:00 AM
Shift 2 (Weekend Rotation)
Weekday Location: 73rd Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19126
- Monday – Thursday: 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Weekend Location: Sperry St, Philadelphia, PA 19152
- Every Other Saturday: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- Every Other Sunday: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
- Support residents with medication administration following proper protocols and safety procedures
- Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote independence, socialization, and well-being
- Operate standard passenger vehicles safely for community outings, appointments, and errands
- Monitor vital signs and observe residents for health changes or signs of distress
- Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs, especially for residents with dementia or memory care requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, resident progress, and incident reports
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is mandatory for safe vehicle operation
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and memory support techniques
- Experience assisting with ADLs and providing personal care in home or community settings
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; ongoing training encouraged
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks as needed
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities or age-related needs
