We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to join the Texas team. This role involves providing technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting services at manufacturing facilities to ensure optimal operation of semiconductor equipment. Our clients in Texas often require mechanical troubleshooting rather than electrical troubleshooting.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining production efficiency and supporting customer satisfaction through expert technical assistance and proactive maintenance. This position does not require you to travel or work overtime.
We do ask you to help Oregon or Arizona sites occasionally, but very rare. The work hours are weekdays of 9:00AM - 6:00 PM (Usually not so much overtime), so this position is salary, not hourly. The salary is DOE, so please answer what you are expecting when you will apply.
Responsibilities for Field Service Technician:
- Perform installation, calibration, and preventive maintenance of semiconductor equipment at client sites.
- Troubleshoot complex mainly mechanical, (occasionally electrical/hydraulic) issues using schematics and technical manuals.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters to diagnose electrical faults.
- Repair and replace components including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulic systems, and high-voltage electrical parts.
- Maintain detailed service records using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track maintenance activities and equipment history.
- Conduct analysis of equipment performance data to identify potential issues before failures occur.
- Provide technical training and support to customer personnel on equipment operation and safety procedures.
- Other duties are assigned by managers.
Requirements for Field Service Engineer/ Maintenance Engineer:
- Proven experience working within manufacturing facilities or industrial maintenance environments.
- Have previous minimum of 2 years of trouble shooting CMP (Chemical Mechanical Planarization) equipment is plus or previous experience in troubleshooting tools and machines in Semiconductor industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with industrial electrician tasks, schematics reading, and troubleshooting electrical systems including low voltage and high voltage components.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, welding, and use of precision measuring instruments are plus, but not required.
- Ability to interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing complex mechanical or electrical issues efficiently.
- Industrial mechanic or industrial electrician experience preferred; military background is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate scissor lifts and other industrial equipment safely.
- Proficiency in English required; additional language skills are advantageous for global customer support.
