Reporting to the Children's Learning Center Manager, the lead classroom teacher will provide care and educational opportunities for children enrolled in the program.
Typical functions required of the classroom teacher:
- To devise and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that align with the overall program mission and with relevant educational standards
- To prepare materials to support planned activities
- To maintain a guidance plan by utilizing proactive strategies, while encouraging positive social behavior
- To maintain and support a safe learning environment
- To assist with the inventory and proper utilization of supplies and consumables
- To establish and maintain home/school connections
- To utilize and model active listening skills
- To communicate effectively with the children, families, co-workers, and LCCC's faculty/staff
- To be a role model for adult learners assigned to the classroom
To assist the Children's Learning Center administrators to meet all regulations and program needs
