Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Caregiver to join our team and provide exceptional support to individuals in various care settings. Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status or behavior, documenting findings accurately in care plans
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when required, ensuring proper hygiene and safety standards are maintained
- Support medication administration following HIPAA regulations and care plans, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of prescribed treatments
- Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being, especially for those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning patient areas, laundry, and general sanitation tasks
- Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures, CPR certification requirements, and manual handling guidelines to ensure both client and caregiver safety at all times
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, or seniors in assisted living or nursing home settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication management, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and hospice support is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts while adhering to manual handling safety standards
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare team members
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required or obtainable upon hire; additional certifications related to home health or long-term care are a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team in home & community care environments
