Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, including high-voltage wiring and low-voltage control circuits.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and power tools, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and schematics to accurately execute wiring and installation tasks.
- Ensure all work complies with NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standards), NEC (National Electrical Code), and local electrical codes.
- Perform routine inspections of electrical systems, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions following electrical safety procedures.
- Work on construction sites or during renovation projects, utilizing hand tools and construction experience to support electrical installations.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately in shift reports for accountability and continuous improvement.
Experience
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician with a strong background in industrial electrical systems, commercial electrical systems, and high-voltage wiring.
- Hands-on experience reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and blueprints reading skills essential for precise installations.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 compliance standards, NEC regulations, and local electrical codes to ensure safe work practices.
- Construction site experience or renovation project background is highly desirable for adaptability across various environments.
- Ability to work independently on complex projects while adhering to strict safety protocols; handyman or frame carpentry experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), high voltage safety procedures, and electrical blueprint reading.
