American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU Float Pool RN for a 13-week night shift travel assignment requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Float pool position covering ICU, ER, MedSurg, Tele, L&D/PP, and NICU across three acute care hospital campuses (Boise, Meridian, and Nampa)

RNs will only float within their specialty and will never be floated to a lower acuity setting
-
ICU staffing ratios are 1:1–2; other units range from 1:4 (ER/Tele) to 1:5 (MedSurg)

ICU RNs are required to titrate drips
-
ICU and Critical Care RNs must be able to read and interpret telemetry/monitor data
-
CNA/patient care tech support is available at ratios of approximately 1:8–10 depending on the floor and day
-
Charge nurses are present on all units; the float pool also has an assistant manager on call 24/7 who rounds with travelers on days, nights, and weekends

Unit assignments are communicated via an app approximately 1 hour before each shift; all three campuses are roughly 20 minutes apart and accessible from the interstate

12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM

Weekends required as needed; holiday coverage required when there is a need

No self-scheduling; block scheduling is not guaranteed and special scheduling requests will not be accepted

No on-call or standby requirement

Charting is done in Epic

13-week assignment

Active ID or compact RN license, in hand and in good standing at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted)

Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; copies of active certifications must be provided (pending certifications not accepted)

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required

Prior travel nursing experience required

Epic EMR experience required

Valid driver's license required

Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, each including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible

Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU settings at three facilities, including titrating drips and interpreting monitoring data

Travelers may be floated mid-shift to different units or facilities at any time based on staffing needs
-
Orientation consists of a meet-and-greet on day one followed by 3 shifts of inpatient orientation
-
No specific scrub color required; attire must be clean and professional
-
Former permanent employees of this health system must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment

First-time travelers are not eligible for this position; prior travel experience is required
