Job Title: Heavy Equipment Truck Mechanic
As a Heavy Equipment Truck Mechanic, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our fleet. You’ll dive into the heart of heavy machinery, diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and keeping our equipment running smoothly. Your expertise will not only enhance operational efficiency but also contribute to the safety and productivity of our team.
What you’ll do
- Diagnose mechanical issues using advanced automotive diagnostics and schematics to identify problems in heavy equipment and trucks.
- Perform comprehensive repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, and suspension systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance on various types of machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques for assembly and repair tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to fabricate parts as needed and troubleshoot electrical systems for effective solutions.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair needs clearly and professionally to clients.
- Execute tire service, brake repair, and alignment tasks while maintaining meticulous records of all work performed.
Basic qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in heavy equipment operation and automotive repair.
- Familiarity with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards and practices.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely as required by the job.
Preferred qualifications
- Class A CDL to Test Drive Vehicles
- Proficiency in HVAC systems maintenance.
- Background in soldering for electrical repairs is a plus.
