Atlas Staffing is hiring one Shop Assistant for a custom metal fabrication shop in Spokane Valley. Enjoy a consistent Monday through Thursday schedule, four 10 hour shifts, and a three day weekend every week!
This temporary to hire opportunity supports shop production, shipping and receiving, local deliveries, inventory organization, and material handling. It is a great fit for someone dependable, flexible, and comfortable handling different responsibilities throughout the day.
Role Purpose
Support daily shop operations by moving materials, completing pickups and deliveries, assisting production employees, and keeping work and inventory areas organized.
Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver parts, materials, and supplies using a company vehicle
- Complete local errands and deliveries throughout the workday
- Assist with painting, sawing, shearing, and cutting parts
- Support shipping and receiving activities
- Move materials using a forklift
- Use power tools safely when completing shop tasks
- Assist production employees with materials and project needs
- Keep shop, storage, and inventory areas clean and organized
- Communicate respectfully with coworkers, customers, and vendors
- Work independently while managing changing priorities
Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of shop, warehouse, shipping, receiving, delivery, or production experience
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
- Forklift experience preferred
- Company forklift training and certification available
- Familiarity with power tools helpful
- Welding experience helpful, but not required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Friendly and professional communication during busy or stressful situations
- Dependable, honest, flexible, and willing to learn
Pay
- $20.00 to $23.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Relevant welding experience may qualify candidates for the higher end of the range
- Paid weekly
Available Shifts
- Monday through Thursday
- 6:00am to 4:30pm
- Four 10 hour shifts
