Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Nashville, TN, for a Field Service Technitian I. As a Field Service Technician I, the responsibilities include after sale service support including set-up modifications, onsite and remote troubleshooting, diagnostics and problem solving. Additional role responsibilities include installation supervision,start-up / commissioning, operational, maintenance and safety training.
This position is responsible for adjusting the machine's software during an installation to maximize machine performance and sorting of materials. The Field Service Technician I will assist, encourage and help train new technicians in the office and while working remote at customer facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, and maintain sensor-based sorting equipment.
- Route and terminate pneumatic and electrical lines, and adjust mechanical components.
- Adjust machine software to optimize performance and sorting efficiency.
- Conduct on-site and remote troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Provide operational, maintenance, software, and safety training to customers.
- Perform pre-shipment testing and quality control checks.
- Produce detailed service reports, PM trip reports, and other documentation.
- Assist with sales demonstrations and training new technicians.
- Support production team as needed.
- Travel to customer sites in North America and internationally (30–40% of the time).
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in similar duties.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, meters, and gauges.
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
- Adaptable to flexible schedules, overtime, and on-call duties.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in maintenance, production, or related field.
- Industrial maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of PLCs, control wiring, motors, and VFD circuits.
- ERP experience.
- Bilingual (English-Spanish)
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Ability to obtain a passport.
Work Conditions:
- Indoor and outdoor work environment.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally and work in tight spaces.
- Flexible hours with occasional weekends and overtime.
- Company provides all necessary tools and test equipment.
Travel:
- Travel required to job sites via airplane and vehicle, including multi-week assignments.
- Estimated travel: 30–40% within North America; some international travel may be required.
