Shift: 7am-4:30pm, Mon-Fri
Pay Rate: $25 an hour
Location: Ogden
We’re looking to add a skilled and hard-working mason to our team. In this role, it will be your job to help us create various structures for our clients out of bricks, concrete, and natural stone. You’ll work on things like buildings, chimneys, and walkways, among other types of structures.
Your tasks may also include tearing down old masonry structures and replacing them with new ones. You’ll need to lift, carry, and place prepared blocks to accomplish this. You’ll also need to be familiar with common masonry techniques and capable of using various hand and power tools without needing much supervision.
We’d prefer to hire a candidate who has either completed an apprenticeship in masonry or has previous experience in a similar role. If you think that you would be a good fit for our mason job, then you can start the application process by sending over your resume. We look forward to reviewing it.
- Reading blueprints Interpreting drawings to calculate materials and lay out patterns, forms, or foundations
- Cutting and shaping materials Breaking or cutting materials to size, and sawing bricks to fit around windows and doors
- Mixing mortar and grout Preparing cement, bricks, and mortar for structures, and spreading it onto slabs or foundations
- Constructing masonry Building walls, fences, walkways, roads, and other structures with bricks, stone, concrete blocks, or marble
- Finishing Aligning structures with levels and plumbs, cleaning and polishing surfaces, and filling expansion joints with caulking materials
- Other tasks Assisting with building layout, framing, sheathing, and roofing structures, identifying and repairing compromised portions of concrete structures, and modifying landscapes
