Sierra Community House is seeking a bilingual Promotor and Community Educator to join our Outreach & Community Engagement team.
This position plays an important role in connecting with youth, adults, schools, and community partners throughout the North Tahoe/Truckee region. The Promotor and Community Educator provides culturally responsive community education, prevention programming, and outreach focused on healthy relationships, interpersonal violence prevention, and community awareness.
A key component of this position is building trusted relationships with Spanish-speaking community members and facilitating small-group discussions and activities for Latino community in Spanish.

What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
- Develop, prepare, and facilitate community education presentations, workshops, small groups, and outreach activities.
- Lead small-group discussions and activities for Latino men, exclusively in Spanish.
- Prepare and facilitate school-based prevention education for youth.
- Build rapport with youth and adults and develop engaging, creative learning activities.
- Provide community education and outreach related to domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, healthy relationships, and Sierra Community House programs and services.
- Participate in community outreach events and collaborative meetings with schools, organizations, agencies, and other community partners.
- Work closely with the Outreach & Community Engagement team to coordinate classes, activities, trainings, supplies, and program needs.
- Assist with program evaluation, including data collection, entry, and coding.
- Participate in required organizational, departmental, prevention-team, and professional development meetings and trainings.
- Complete Sierra Community House's 69-hour Crisis Intervention Training following hire.
- Provide support for Sierra Community House's 24-hour Community Helpline, including emergency response and crisis intervention responsibilities as required by FTE status.
- Provide office coverage and other program support as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required, with fluency in speaking and writing both languages.
- Valid driver's license with no restrictions, current automobile insurance meeting agency requirements, and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to build positive, trusted relationships with both youth and adults.
- Knowledge and understanding of domestic violence, sexual assault, and issues affecting youth.
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends as required.

Physical & Work Requirements
This position regularly involves sitting, talking, hearing, and using hands to handle objects and materials. The position frequently requires reaching and lifting or moving items weighing up to 25 pounds and may occasionally require standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
