We currently have openings for Lifeguards at the Racine Unified School District Aquatic Center to ensure the safety of all those who use the aquatics facility. Candidates should have current up-to-date lifeguard certification.
Lifeguards will be required to:
- Monitor activities in the swimming pool, promote safe swimming practices and ensure the security and well-being of all persons participating in activities in the water and immediate area.
- Render emergency assistance to persons in distress or difficulty.
- Administer first aid as required.
- Ensure that all areas are clean and secure before leaving the pool.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Preferred if the candidate is currently up to date with Red Cross Lifeguarding, first aid, CPR, and AED Certifications (cross-training available).
Candidate must be:
At least 15 years of age
Able to swim 300 yards continuously (use of both breaststroke and freestyle)
Able to tread water for 2 minutes without hands
Able to retrieve 10lb brick off the bottom of a 14-foot deep pool and swim it 25 yards, without using hands, in under 1 minute and 40 seconds
