Ascend Healthcare | Erie, Colorado | Full-Time | Salaried | Monday–Friday
Ascend Healthcare is an established adolescent behavioral health organization with programs across California. We're opening our first Colorado residential location in Erie — and we're looking for a Nursing Supervisor to lead the medical side of our program from day one.
This is a Monday through Friday, on-site salaried position with on-call expectations. If you're a nurse who wants real accountability, a consistent weekday schedule, and the chance to do meaningful work with teens — this is worth a look.
The Role
You'll be the primary on-site nurse at an 8-bed adolescent residential treatment program, serving as the medical care coordinator for all clients and the main bridge between our treatment team and our contracted medical providers. You'll oversee nursing staff, manage the medication system, coordinate medical assessments and follow-up care, and ensure the program operates in compliance with Colorado RCCF licensing standards.
The structure is in place. The standards are high. This role is for someone who takes ownership seriously, holds themselves and their team accountable, and finds genuine meaning in the health and wellbeing of the teens in our care.
What You'll Be Doing
- Coordinating all medical care for clients — from admission nursing assessments to specialist referrals to follow-up dental care
- Overseeing medication management, including supervising QMAP-certified direct care staff who administer routine medications
- Managing controlled substance counts, medication storage compliance, and CDPHE disposal requirements
- Facilitating a weekly health group covering sexual health, STI risk, and other adolescent health topics
- Supervising and scheduling nursing staff, including part-time and per-diem nurses
- Supporting our contracted psychiatrist and pediatrician and serving as their point of contact on the floor
- Ensuring nursing documentation in KIPU is accurate, timely, and compliant with Colorado licensing requirements
- Training direct care staff in medication side effect recognition, signs of illness, and child abuse screening
- Participating in the nursing on-call rotation for after-hours clinical and operational nursing needs
What We're Looking For
- Current RN or LPN/LVN license in good standing in the State of Colorado
- Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience — behavioral health, residential, psychiatric, or adolescent healthcare preferred
- Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience required
- Someone who holds themselves to a high standard and brings that same expectation to their team
- Organized, clinically sound, and comfortable in a fast-paced adolescent environment
- Comfortable with on-call responsibilities as part of a leadership nursing role
- KIPU experience a plus
- Familiarity with Colorado RCCF regulations or residential medication management a plus
What We Offer
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience
- Medical, dental, and vision benefits
- Paid time off and holidays
- Monday through Friday schedule — no rotating shifts as part of your standard schedule
- On-call participation as part of the nursing leadership team
- The opportunity to lead the nursing program at a new facility, with the backing of an established organization and a team that takes the work seriously
