Decks Docks and More Inc. is searching for a full-time "Junior" Carpenter. (A "junior" carpenter would be someone who has at least a few years of similar carpentry experience, is able to cut straight lines and some angles, possibly stair stringers, accurate measuring skills, and proficient skills with power tools. A junior carpenter is not required to know how to lay-out projects but should have willingness to learn and "move-up.")
Decks Docks and More, Inc, primarily works in the Greer's Ferry Lake area (Heber Springs-Pangburn-Drasco-Greer's Ferry-Fairfield Bay, etc.), but we do service all of Arkansas.
* We build many different types of decks, stairways, etc, [including but not limited to:] pressure-treated wood decks/stairs, wooden structure carports, screened-in porches, gazebos, composite decks, exotic wood decks/handrails, cable rails, etc. Experience in any of those areas would be a benefit.
Qualifications:
+ YOU MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 2+ YRS OF SOMEWHAT-SIMILAR CARPENTRY/CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE (exterior, interior, new builds, framing, roofing, custom wood-working, etc.)
+ You MUST be able to lift 80+lbs as needed on a daily basis.
+ You must be capable of reading a tape measure to 1/16" and operating saws and power tools safely.
+ You MUST have your own reliable transportation. (A truck/SUV with ability to haul a trailer would be a benefit - you would be reimbursed Mileage Pay for any requested use with that.)
+ You must be able to be trusted to work alone if needed, as well as with a team.
+ You must be hard-working, motivated, easy-going, reliable, and honest, with a good attitude.
+ You MUST be able to pass a drug test at any time.
-If you have any of your own tools that would be a benefit. (Hand tools or cordless power tools.)
- Any additional construction/mechanical experience would be a benefit - since we build steel structures as well as wood, we also build/repair motorized boat lifts, and use boats to get jobs done, so if you have any additional skills which could be applicable to this business, that would be a benefit for you.
Responsibilities
- Utilize hand and power tools to perform carpentry tasks, ensuring precision and quality in construction projects.
- Potentially read and interpret blueprints to accurately execute construction plans.
- Collaborate with team members on-site to maintain workflow and adhere to safety standards.
- Conduct construction estimating to assess project costs and materials needed.
- Engage in various carpentry activities, including framing, trim, and roofing carpentry.
- Pay is solely based on experience, quality of work completed, and work ethic.
- This is a physical job that will require much hands-on work. Please only apply if you are comfortable with working in various weather conditions and performing much physical work.
- Pay is weekly, on Fridays. Overtime is available.
