Yardman/Yard Technician

We are currently seeking a dependable, detailed-oriented Yardman/Yard Technician to assist with daily yard operations, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and truck loading activities. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment, maintaining an organized work environment, and working safely in a fast-paced outdoor setting. This position will work under the Vice President of Operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate skid steers and wheel loaders safely and efficiently
- Load and unload mats onto trucks for delivery and pickup
- Maintain accurate inventory counts of mats and yard materials
- Use computers and iPads to track and manage inventory
- Complete Bills of Lading (BOLs) and maintain organized records and paperwork
- Inspect, grade, and sort mats according to company standards
- Perform mat repairs as needed
- Keep the yard clean, organized, and free of hazards
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform routine maintenance, including cleaning and greasing machinery
- Assist with truck loading and yard operations as needed to support project schedules
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
- Experience operating skid steers and wheel loaders required
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
- Basic computer and iPad proficiency
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to work weekends and report early when required to load trucks for projects
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more throughout the workday
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance record preferred
- Travel as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in construction, oilfield, matting, or heavy equipment operations
- Mechanical aptitude and experience performing basic equipment maintenance and repairs
Physical Demands:
- This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials weighing 50 pounds or more throughout the day. Work is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions.
