Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our innovative data management team. Responsibilities
- Manage and administer SQL Server databases, ensuring high availability through clustering, replication, and disaster recovery architecture.
- Perform database tuning and system optimization to improve performance and system uptime.
- Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity.
- Design efficient data models and schemas aligned with application requirements while maintaining best practices in database architecture.
- Execute data migration projects between different database systems or versions with minimal downtime.
- Write complex stored procedures, T-SQL scripts, and PL/SQL code to support application development and reporting needs.
- Monitor database health, troubleshoot technical issues promptly, and provide technical support for system outages or performance bottlenecks.
- Conduct routine database maintenance tasks such as index management, data cleanup, and system tuning using scripting languages like Bash or Shell Scripting on Linux environments.
- Collaborate with development teams on database design improvements, performance tuning initiatives, and implementing security measures for data management security compliance.
- Support ETL processes using tools like SSIS for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading operations across multiple platforms including cloud databases.
Experience
- Proven experience managing relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, or similar systems in a production environment.
- Strong background in high availability architecture design including clustering, replication, and failover strategies.
- Extensive knowledge of disaster recovery planning and implementation to ensure business continuity.
- Hands-on experience with database backup/recovery procedures, data migration projects, and system tuning techniques.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash (Unix shell), Shell Scripting, or Python to automate routine tasks.
- Familiarity with cloud databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) and managing hybrid or cloud-native database environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues quickly while maintaining clear documentation of processes and resolutions.
- Excellent understanding of data management security principles to protect sensitive information against unauthorized access or breaches.
- Experience working with ETL tools like SSIS for data integration projects combined with strong skills in performance tuning of large datasets.
