Information Systems Technician
The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative and technical support for the Information Technologies Department. This is accomplished through routine managing of system upgrades, resolving user queries, and optimizing our technology infrastructure to align with business goals while safeguarding digital assets. The ideal candidate will support the organization’s IT infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical expertise to ensure all operations run smoothly.
Job Duties & Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls within IT systems.
- Set up new user accounts, email configurations, and devices for team members.
- Create and assign company badge access to employees or vendors as appropriate.
- Install and update software applications, ensuring compatibility and data security.
- Monitor network traffic to identify and resolve connectivity issues.
- Configure servers, printers, and peripheral devices for company use.
- Perform routine maintenance and manage resources to optimize speed and reduce costs while maintaining efficiency.
- Coordinate with vendors for system purchases, warranties, or external support services.
- Respond to technical support requests from employees or departments facing technical difficulties.
- Conduct training and guidance sessions on tools, IT security practices, and system usage.
- Analyze data from system logs to improve performance and identify risks.
- Document IT processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides for reference.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends to recommend improvements.
- Coordinate with 3rd-party vendor for the configuration and routing of incoming/outgoing calls within the Credit Union’s network.
- Assist Operations personnel with IT components related to ATM operations, maintenance, or upgrades.
- Responsible for maintenance of company intranet (ie. links)
- Ensure data back-ups run according to schedule; pull tapes and rotate per defined periods; and perform test restores to verify content backed up appropriately.
- Research and update Baylands’ annual demographics for inclusion in the Credit Union’s business plan and strategic reference throughout the year.
- Demonstrate positivity, professional courtesy, and teamwork when dealing with staff and outside personnel.
Required Qualifications:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: The successful candidate should have a High School diploma or a GED; Six (6) months of related experience and/or training preferred. Other experience or proficiency with the following are a plus: Comptia A+ hardware certification and other industry certifications; virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V; mobile device management (MDM) systems; remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools; familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks like NIST or ISO 27001; and enterprise software and IT systems integration. Must be analytical and good at details, problem-solving, and multitasking.
