AutoCAD LT Designer / Drafter (1099 Contractor)

We are seeking an experienced AutoCAD LT Designer to support a wide variety of architectural, specialty facility, and development projects. This is a remote 1099 contractor position with ongoing work opportunities.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, capable of managing drawing revisions from concept through final approval, and comfortable communicating with internal departments.
Projects may include shooting ranges, residential structures, dog kennels, recording studios, gymnasiums, natatoriums, training facilities, and other specialty-use buildings.
Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and maintain AutoCAD LT drawings.
- Convert PDF drawings into editable DWG files.
- Scale, format, and prepare drawing packages for PDF distribution and submission.
- Develop floor plans, sections, elevations, details, and redline revisions.
- Understand and draft basic wall assemblies, ceiling systems, and building layouts.
- Communicate directly with internal departments for drawing reviews and approvals.
- Process design revisions
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency with AutoCAD LT.
- Ability to accurately convert PDF plans into working DWG files.
- Experience preparing professional PDF drawing sets.
- Understanding of basic residential and light commercial construction methods.
- Knowledge of wall systems, ceiling systems, floor plans, and construction documentation.
- Ability to read architectural, civil, engineering, and municipal drawings.
- Strong communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple project designs simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with residential design.
- Experience with specialty facilities such as:
- Shooting ranges
- Dog kennels
- Recording studios
- Gymnasiums
- Natatoriums
