Duties
- Prepare and assemble deli products with precision, following established recipes and food safety guidelines
- Serve customers efficiently at the deli counter, providing friendly assistance and product recommendations to enhance sales through upselling techniques
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to process transactions accurately, handle cash, credit cards, and manage receipts with care
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including food handling stations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with health regulations
- Restock deli items regularly to ensure freshness and availability while monitoring inventory levels for order replenishment
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing meats and cheeses, assembling salads, or preparing ready-to-eat items in a quick service or fast-food restaurant setting
- Support other team members with bussing tables or cleaning duties as needed to keep the deli area organized and inviting
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, food service, or retail environments such as grocery stores or cafés is highly desirable
- Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient transaction processing
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while multitasking between serving customers and preparing food
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and accurate measurement of ingredients
- Kitchen experience or culinary background is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is key
