Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty dump trucks to transport and deliver construction materials, debris, and other bulk loads across various sites. Duties
- Operate dump trucks safely across over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using truck-mounted equipment or manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of freight including hazardous materials and dangerous goods when applicable.
- Navigate using GPS systems to reach delivery destinations efficiently while adhering to route schedules.
- Transport freight such as construction debris, bulk materials, or freight requiring specialized trailers like flatbed or tanker configurations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the dump truck to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns.
- Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate delivery schedules and optimize route planning for maximum efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience operating dump trucks, tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, or similar heavy-duty vehicles in a commercial driving environment.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized trailers is a plus.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat) and experience handling dangerous goods safely is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to load and unload freight manually or with forklift assistance while adhering to safety protocols.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type and cargo being transported.
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance standards, and safety procedures for truck driving.
- Experience navigating complex routes using GPS navigation systems for efficient delivery execution.
