Job description:
At HOWMZ, every bathroom pod leaves the factory with our name on it — and the person who plumbs and tiles it tight, square, and right is the difference between a good house and a great one.
We're looking for someone with real working knowledge of plumbing and tile installation. That's the job — running rough-in and finish plumbing and setting tile through our bathroom pods. You don't need to be a master of either trade coming in — we'll show you our process — but you need enough hands-on experience to pick it up fast and then run with it on your own. Comfort picking up other trades — metal, windows, flashing, finish — when the floor needs it is a real plus.
We're not looking for someone who's never touched plumbing or tile before. We're looking for someone who knows enough to be shown our process once, then owns the result — and never lets bad work pass.
What you'll do
- Run plumbing rough-in and finish — supply, drain, waste, and vent — through our bathroom pods to a tight, leak-free standard.
- Set tile — floors, walls, and shower surrounds — with clean layout, tight lines, and finished grout and caulk work.
- Own the plumbing and tile stations on the line: pace, quality, and sign-off before a pod moves to the next gate.
- See what's off before it moves down the line — flag anything that won't pass a gate, and dig into why.
- Take rework in stride — when a part needs to be remade, you make it right without losing your cool or your pace.
- Follow our work instructions, and help make them simpler, cleaner, and better.
- Pick up other trades — metal siding and trim, window installation, flashing, and finish work — when the floor needs it.
What we're looking for
- Working knowledge of plumbing — supply, drain, waste, and vent — enough to learn our rough-in and finish process quickly.
- Working knowledge of tile — layout and setting — enough to learn our finish standard quickly.
- Able to be shown a process once, then run it independently without needing to be re-taught.
- A curious, sharp eye. You can look at a job and tell when something just isn't right — and you don't let it slide.
- Flexible and even-keeled. Rework doesn't rattle you. Getting it right does.
- Accountable. You own your work — the wins and the misses — and you can be trusted to carry the plumbing and tile stations on your own.
- Comfortable with standardization, repeatability, and radical simplicity. The best work is rarely the most complicated.
- Someone who sees plumbing and tile as a craft to master — not just a paycheck.
- Bonus: experience in metal/sheet-metal work, siding, windows, flashing, or finish carpentry.
