Position Summary
The Molding Technician I works under direct supervision to maintain and set up injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment in accordance with quality, operations, and time standards. The Molding Technician will perform routine and simple maintenance and job tasks where sequences, methods, and instructions are well-defined and routine in nature.

Inspect and analyze defective parts to determine necessary machine adjustments, set up and maintain machines and all related auxiliary
- Responsible for performing preventive maintenance checks as required, and support team projects and process improvement activities as directed

Assist Technicians and/or Plastic Engineering in responding to urgent maintenance projects/requests in support of manufacturing

Record spare part usage, communicating low inventory items to appropriate personnel and documenting and maintaining a log of issues/resolutions

Education and Experience

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent applicable education and work experience is required; an Associate’s degree is preferred

At least 1 year of injection molding technical experience preferred

Experience making minor adjustments to and working on various automated production equipment preferred

Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with all levels of personnel

Utilize critical thinking to propose creative solutions to complex problems

Basic PC skills are required, including experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and email
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in a warehouse, manufacturing, cleanroom, and/or office environment that is subject to moderate to high levels of noise, specialized apparel, safety equipment, and moving mechanical parts. This position will have exposure to and use of materials listed in the company’s Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee conducts primarily medium work with frequent periods of standing, walking, reaching, crawling, climbing, pushing, and pulling. This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers are required.
