Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our vibrant educational team. This vital role supports classroom teachers by providing flexible assistance across multiple early childhood and elementary classrooms, ensuring a nurturing, engaging, and well-managed learning environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about child development, possesses strong communication skills, and has experience working with children of diverse needs, including those with disabilities. Duties
- Assist classroom teachers with daily instructional activities, including literacy and math lessons, ensuring alignment with educational standards such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
- Support classroom behavior management and implement behavior intervention strategies to promote positive conduct.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions to ensure safety and engagement.
- Help prepare educational materials and set up learning spaces to facilitate effective teaching and learning experiences.
- Collaborate with teachers on lesson planning, student assessments, and progress monitoring to support individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities or special needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom events to foster strong home-school connections.
- Utilize computers and educational technologies to enhance instruction and student engagement.
- Maintain compliance with educational regulations and school policies while supporting inclusive practices for diverse learners.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in early childhood or elementary settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of special education principles, childhood development, and behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with literacy education, math instruction, and classroom technology tools.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and students.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required or willing to obtain upon hire.
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other disabilities is a plus.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior positively while maintaining a safe environment for all children.
- Understanding of educational compliance standards such as ESSA and familiarity with private school environments is advantageous.

Pay: $14.55 - $15.30 per hour
