Theater Curtain Installation Helper (Temporary)
National Stage Equipment Company — Lorena, TX Temporary role through mid-August · Some out-of-town travel required
Job Overview
National Stage Equipment Company is hiring a temporary Installation Helper to ride along and work on one of our installation crews through the middle of August. You'll be the extra set of hands on the truck — helping our installers hang stage curtains, set rigging and tracks, and keep job sites moving. It's hands-on, physical work with a team that takes pride in doing it right.
This role involves some out-of-town travel on company trucks. When we're on the road, hotel rooms and per diem are provided — your travel and lodging are covered.
If you show up on time, work hard, and are willing to learn, we'll teach you the rest.
What You'll Do
- Help load, unload, and move curtains, drapes, hardware, and equipment on and off the truck
- Assist installers with hanging curtains and setting curtain tracks, rigging, and related hardware
- Hand up tools and materials and follow the lead installer's direction on site
- Help with general setup and breakdown, and keep the work area clean and organized
- Travel out of town with the crew on company trucks for multi-day jobs as needed
- Put tools and materials away properly at the end of each task
What We're Looking For
- Reliable, on time, and ready to work
- Comfortable working at height — on ladders and lifts is a core part of this job; you must be able to work overhead safely with the proper equipment
- Able to handle and lift heavy equipment — comfortable with physical labor, lifting and carrying curtains, hardware, and gear, and being on your feet most of the day
- A team player with a good attitude and a willingness to learn
- Able to travel out of town with the crew for stretches through mid-August
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test — many of our jobs are in schools and require it to work on site
- Basic comfort with hand tools is a plus, but not required — we'll show you what you need to know
- OSHA training (OSHA 10 or OSHA 30) is a plus, but not required
