Position Summary: The Omar Coffee Company is seeking a full-time dependable and motivated Coffee Roaster to join the team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and committed to producing high-quality roasted coffee while maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate coffee roasting equipment according to roasting profiles and procedures.
- Monitor each roast closely and remain at the roasting station for the duration of every roast cycle.
- Maintain consistent product quality through attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of roasting equipment and work areas.
- Package, label, and move finished products as needed.
- Assist with inventory management and production support activities.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and sanitation standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment at all times.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to multi-task effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure in a production environment.
- Demonstrated good housekeeping habits and commitment to workplace cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds safely and repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet production demands.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality required
Preferred but Not Required:
- Previous coffee roasting, food production, manufacturing, or equipment operation experience preferred. Will train the right individual.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills are a plus.
- Passion for specialty coffee and quality craftsmanship is desirable.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
