Veterinary Assistant
Alto Tiburon Veterinary Hospital – Mill Valley, CA
Alto Tiburon Veterinary Hospital is looking for a motivated, compassionate, and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. We are seeking someone who is dependable, team-oriented, and passionate about providing exceptional patient care and client service.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and RVTs with appointments and treatments
- Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical and dental procedures
- Perform dental cleanings and take dental radiographs
- Place intravenous catheters (IVCs)
- Perform venipuncture and collect laboratory samples
- Obtain diagnostic radiographs
- Run in-house laboratory testing and diagnostics
- Safely restrain patients for examinations and procedures
- Provide excellent client communication and customer service during appointments
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Assist with patient care, treatments, and hospitalized patients
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient hospital environment
Qualifications
- Previous veterinary assistant experience required
- Comfortable monitoring anesthesia and assisting with dentals
- Experience with dental radiographs preferred
- Proficient in animal restraint and patient handling
- Experience with venipuncture, IVC placement, and radiographs
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and willingness to support the team
Compensation
- Starting pay: $24.00/hour
- Pay based on experience and skill level
- Experienced candidates may earn $30.00+/hour
