Construction Manager / Project Manager ? Water & Wastewater Infrastructure

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager / Project Manager to support water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Yuma, Arizona. This role will focus heavily on construction oversight, field inspection, and project support for a variety of utility improvement projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with water/wastewater treatment or utility infrastructure construction, strong field presence, and the ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, engineers, utility representatives, and project stakeholders.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on construction professional who can step into an active program and provide immediate support on infrastructure upgrades that may include reservoirs, tanks, pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities, and related infrastructure, as well as water tank construction, booster pump station, force main, and lift station upgrade projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day construction management, field oversight, and project support for water and wastewater infrastructure projects
- Monitor construction activities to verify compliance with plans, specifications, permits, safety requirements, and quality standards
- Perform or oversee construction inspection activities and document project progress, issues, and contractor performance
- Coordinate with contractors, utility/client representatives, designers, testing personnel, and other project stakeholders to support successful project delivery
- Identify field issues, communicate concerns promptly, and assist in resolving construction-related problems
- Review project documentation including reports, schedules, submittals, RFIs, change-related items, and daily inspection records as needed
- Support project communication between office and field teams to help keep work moving efficiently and in compliance
- Assist with quality control and ensure work is completed in accordance with contract requirements and applicable standards
- Work on a range of water and wastewater facility and infrastructure projects, potentially including:
- Pipelines and utility improvements
- Pump stations
- Storage reservoirs and tank rehabilitation
- Treatment facilities and related site/civil infrastructure
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in construction management, project management, resident engineering, project engineering, or construction inspection for water/wastewater infrastructure
- Background in municipal utility, treatment plant, reservoir, tank rehab, pump station, or pipeline projects
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, contract documents, and field coordination
- Ability to work effectively in both field and office settings; approximately 50% field / 50% office
- Experience working directly with contractors, owners, engineers, and public utility or municipal stakeholders
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to mobilize quickly and work on-site in Yuma full-time or at minimum a substantial portion of the week, depending on project needs
- Professional Engineering licensure or Certified Construction Manager credential is desirable, but not required
Ideal Background
We are open to candidates who may come from a Construction Manager, Resident Engineer, Project Engineer, or Utility Infrastructure PM background, provided they have relevant water/wastewater construction experience and can take ownership of field coordination and project support responsibilities.
