Why this position matters:
The Rack Integration Technician is responsible for the complete physical build-out of server racks, from initial hardware staging through final structured cabling, labeling, and handoff. This role ensures every deployment meets our documentation and quality standards to provide best-in-class customer service in alignment with Flywheel Data’s mission.
What the Rack Integration Technician does:
- Receive, unbox, inspect, and stage hardware (servers, switches, PDUs, patch panels, cable managers)
- Mount and seat all equipment into racks per approved rack elevation diagrams
- Run and dress copper and fiber structured cabling (Cat6/6A, DAC, LC/SC fiber) with proper management, bend radius, and bundling
- Label all cables, ports, and assets per site naming convention and labeling standards
- Connect and verify power distribution (A/B feed redundancy, PDU outlet mapping, cable-tie and power cord management)
- Perform continuity and link-light verification; document as-built configurations in DCIM/ticketing system
- Maintain accurate asset records (serial numbers, MAC addresses, U-position) through handoff to operations team
- Follow all site safety, ESD, and change-control procedures throughout the build process
- Consult and collaborate with customers, Cisco stakeholders, and internal Account Managers to plan, design, install, configure, integrate and/or optimize Cisco’s suite of products
- Stay up to date on software updates and new versions that affect customers

What this position takes:
- 1+ years hands-on rack integration or data center build experience
- Proficiency with copper and fiber cabling, termination, and testing tools
- Ability to read and execute rack elevation and cabling diagrams
- Strong attention to detail in labeling, documentation, and QA
- Comfortable lifting 40 lbs. and working in a warehouse environment
- Requires U.S. citizenship
- Compliance with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC)
- Ability to safeguard information in accordance with regulatory and contractual obligations
Preferred qualifications
- BICSI Installer or CompTIA Server+ certification
- Experience with DCIM tools (e.g., Nlyte, Sunbird, ServiceNow)
- Familiarity with OOB/IPMI/KVM console access
- Hyperscale or colocation deployment experience

Pay: $80.00 - $120.00 per hour
