Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to support our daily warehouse and shipping operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for picking customer orders, packing and labeling products according to customer specifications, preparing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and safely moving materials throughout the warehouse.
This position requires someone who is organized, reliable, and comfortable performing physical work while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Pick and verify customer orders accurately.
- Pack and label products according to customer specifications and shipping instructions.
- Prepare finished goods for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, loading, and securing products.
- Document shipments by accurately recording quantities shipped and updating computer records.
- Weigh-count materials and finished goods using counting scales.
- Receive, stock, and organize inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Verify part numbers, quantities, and inventory accuracy.
- Enter inventory transactions and material movements into the computer system.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with loading and unloading incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other warehouse and shipping duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Physical Requirements
This position regularly requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Perform repetitive bending, reaching, twisting, and stooping.
- Use hands and fingers to handle products and operate warehouse equipment.
- Safely operate pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and moderate noise levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial warehouse.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems.
- Experience preparing shipping documentation and working with common carriers.
