Memphis Jewish Home & Rehab is seeking an Activities Coordinator to join our team. The schedule is Wednesday and Thursday 11am-7:30pm and Saturday and Sunday 7am-7:30 pm.
Position Summary:
The Activity Coordinator position is intended to develop and implement therapeutic recreational activities and interventions that continuously improve and attain the residents’ highest level of functioning, enable residents to fill social and recreational needs, and support lower functioning residents with activities based upon their individual needs.
Job Duties:
- Evaluate residents on an individual basis as required to determine needs and adjust care plans
- Meet with residents and families as needed to determine appropriate plan of care for the resident
- Maintain residents’ rights and dignity in accordance with the policies and standards of MJHR
- Organize and direct volunteers when applicable
- Lead resident activity programs, including but not limited one-to-one programs, small group activities, and large group events
- Attending outings
- Plan and oversee a diverse range of activities for enrichment of residents at all functional levels
- Assist with care of pets involved in pet therapy program
- Maintain confidential information in accordance with HIPAA
- Recognize emergency situations and respond accordingly
- Meet and anticipate needs of residents
